I'm going to be making this tomorrow for dinner:

https://iowagirleats.com/crock-pot-italian-beef-sandwiches/

There are only five ingredients, and three of them are not to be found here.  Pepperocinis I got through "a friend."  I am making my own giardiniera (currently in the flavor blending dwell) and my own Italian dressing mix.  Oh, and hoagy buns are also not available here, so I will have to bootleg with some French bread batards.

Had a quick taste of the giardiniera, and it is sublime.  I can already imagine it on the sandwich.

A true Italian beef sandwich has beef sliced the consistency of thinly sliced roast beef. In the future you can save yourself some time by making a thin gravy using the ingredients in that recipe and just dunking rare roast beef from the deli in it until it’s warm. Don’t overcook it.

They don’t have any restaurants near me that serve it so that’s pretty much how I make mine when I’m not eating Thai food.

Are we having fun yet?

That's an interesting idea and I may try that out.  Finding a deli that can cut thinly-sliced beef could be a challenge.

As for the sandwich in this recipe, I have no preconceived ideas about what an "Italian beef sandwich" tastes like, so as long as it tastes good, I'm down with it.

I will be taking the Starlight Amtrak train from Seattle to Los Angeles later this month (a 38 hour trip) and if this recipe works out, I will bring a couple along with me.  Maybe I will find someone to share it with.  A different situation, on a stop-over in Korea, with a gourmet homemade hamburger, happened once before.

A very simple aus jus consistency gravy can be made with some wishbone Italian dressing, garlic powder, ground black and white pepper and a beef broth base.

The best tasting sandwiches are sopping wet with the gravy. The bread helps make the sandwich. The Italian bread with a dense texture and a hint of sourdough flavor is the best.

Chicago is origin of this type of sandwich. A restaurant chain called Portillo’s is spreading across the country.

Probably as much for their hot dogs and French fries. In Chicago most local stands use celery salt on their fries.

You’ll be passing right through Martinez. You should try sharing one with Senda.

@KSM Is that your guitar as your avatar.  (That rhymed. Should be a song title)  Anyway, it immediately reminded me of Return of the Living Dead.

Brains!
Yes, @ShayP it is mine. It's a dreamy thing.

Thanks for the advice KSM and Sean - I took the smelly carpet to the landfill so there will be no fucking on it -sorry.

We got a flyer in the mail so wife called that guy for the qoute. He seemed to be a middle man type. Perhaps he didn't dig my accent and decided to stick it to the Yankee.  I wanted to do the clean up and sealing myself because I'll be deligent to get the funk out.  May end up just laying down the floor too. This LVP stuff shouldn't take a whole of skill or will it?

A plan, sharp box cutters, a compass and a straight edge. @KSM can fill you in on the orientation to windows, doors, walls, cutting under door jambs, etc.

I don't know if the Costco-sold brands of LVP are any good, 20 years ago, their flooring products were midline quality at bargain barrel prices.

GoogleTube might have a few good tutorials amongst the thousands of Falkies disseminating bad information.

I still like at least a thin cork underlayment for upper levels to deaden sound. I'd also encourage you to get the best proven underlayment/padding for all your flooring because that'll make the biggest difference.

Did you use an ozone generator by any chance?

LOL! Imagine the potential for streaming this event live. Chefist needs to get busy setting this up, maybe sell tickets. Trying to “share” anything with Falkie could be a potentially life threatening event.  ;D

Well, for better or worse, it's in the slow cooker and will be completed by dinner time.

As I was forking 8oz of pepperocini onto the meat, the words of my pal Mr. Sucks came back to me. And not the words about that 400 lb rolling anus, but the wise words about how I treat my meat rather than beating it.

All that crap looked good on paper, but looked like overkill as I lowered the lid and turned the knob to LOW. Please Mr Custer, I don't wanna go!

My wife and daughter are away visiting and I am enjoying being home alone.  Would it be wrong to change the locks and not let them back?  @KSM

I know how it feels.  :)

..But what you propose is high risk with a diminishing returns. They'll yell, claw, bang-knock-and-POUND on the doors. And those windows.. made of glass, and I'll bet they are without bars. No. Perhaps change the locks on the shed and coax them in there where you can lock them in. At least they'll have shelter and any other items you see fit to supply.  ;)

It's a mans world @whoozit . Women just get to live in it.

..ain't dat right, Hammy!

If you locked your wife and your dog in the truck of the car, when you opened it which one would be happy to see you?

Bullshit Answer: Hell NO! Drink dat shit on down!

The Answer: Of course, and you know that. I prefer quality over quantity. AND I'M GOOD AT IT. Hopefully you're enjoying yourself very much. I will now go meet my very attractive neighbor (from upstairs) across the street at the craft beer garden. I still need to get a good look at her ass but the rest of her is FI-IIiine!

Cheers.

Too bad, I was hoping her butt would be on fire and you’d have to pee on it to put it out.
