I grew up in the 70's and 80's working for older men (farmers etc) who had worked in the CCC in the 1940s.  The South in those days was full of fire-towers all over the place.  It had NOTHING to do with Japanese "balloon bombs".

Aleutian Islands were not a victory for the Japs.  There were no US bases there in 1942.  The Japs attempted to invade and were defeated.  It had NOTHING to do with the outcome of Midway.
