I received a response today from the National Archives and Records Administration, National Personnel Records Center regarding the service record of David Lewis Anderson.

(I submitted the request in January). The letter states:  "We have been unsuccessful in identifying a military service record for the above-named individual."

I plan to contact them per the letter to confirm the required info from the Jan FOIA request.

This comes as a surprise as I had expected to receive his record including a duty assignment on Guam and his resigning his commission (retirement).

But in my experience, this type of response is indicative of a false claim of military service.

I will call them tomorrow and talk to them to verify the info I submitted was correct.  (I know it was).  They have a serious backlog at NPRC due to COVID, I anticipated they would just "deep six" the requests.

But the fact that the DOD Manpower Data Center had no results is a sign of no record.  I challenge Anderson to produce proof of his military service to me privately or publicly.
