Oh I'm sure there are tunnels under the presidio that service the gun emplacements. There are the same type rifle batteries at the mouth of the Columbia and the entrance to Puget Sound. You are correct, but the area is NOT what DD Describes.  Anyone who researches the Presidio after 1988 knows it is now Federal land.   It is the property of the US Department of the Interior!
