I notice another detail, the preference for a forearm hand-stop rather than a vertical forward handgrip.  This evolved over time with the use of the M4.  The training changed as a result of combat efficiency.  The forward grip once thought to be ergonomic etc, and helpful, actually became a bit clumsy in combat.  So the adaptation on the forearm was made to allow for that and improve speed and accuracy.

The best part is, I bought an ammo box with  420 rounds in stripper clips of Winchester 5.56 for when my brother brings his AR-15 over to shoot, so I already have ammo for it. He's coming out for labor day weekend so we'll get to give it a test run. I'm pretty sure it will get to the FFL before then.
Are you changing your type of lube this time?  What are you using?

It has to be a cocaine-like narcotic Dietrich is using..I hear a definite change.  It's very noticeable.  Like going from 35 mph to 80.

Yeah I see it, 16"   It has the old A2 muzzle flash suppressor too.   LOL!  Funny how I have remembered all these things, but that's what being a Marine was about.  The most important skill is as a rifleman.
All the reviews by purchasers spoke well of this firearm and say for the price it's a great deal.

I did not see any iron sights for that rifle.  but the rail appears to allow for that, or you can use whatever sighting system you like, or switch sights too.  It looks like a decent, affordable base for a battle rifle.

I have a bunch of stuff. Some Rem oil, Hoppe's,  and stuff that came with my Winchester gun cleaning kit. Probably got other stuff too if my brother left his oil here.

OK, just wondered if you had experimented with any newer stuff.  You know the AR wants to be run "wet"

Yeah, I remember you telling me to tell my brother that. He's pretty good when it comes to keeping his guns cleaned and oiled.

It's actually easier to clean that way.  We figured this out right away, not just because our NCOs kept telling us to, and weapons cleaning was a regular activity, but we used blanks frequently and they create a mess in the barrel and bolt.

I was in a Weapons Company so we would eventually end up cleaning personal and crew-served weapons at the armory to be inspected and turned in etc.

The Heavy machine gunners (0331) had a few tricks with hot water and solvent etc, and we quickly adopted that ourselves.  But the oil they issued us ("CWP") was total crap!  So we used the CWP for light use under "supervised conditions" but we used normal light weapons oils otherwise.  It was cheap and we found we could clean our weapons more quickly and efficiently.

My brother comes out only 5 or 6 times a year, and we go shooting every time. But we usually bring about half a dozen guns with us so we don't put a lot of rounds through any one gun.

I get that.  That's what most people do.  If they can afford it.  Just remembering that we must have gone through 200-400 rounds of blanks per man during the average training op.

Anderson was FIRED from BOSCH because he did not pass the background check! My guess is that he lied about everything!  He is NOT a scientist, he has one BS Degree as a fucking Electrical Engineer.  Vinny is still pushing this line of BULLSHIT!
