I will have to check that Pelayo but I would say he must have used it previously and it found its way into the book.  The fact that "Moon" denies it despite its being on Amazon is bizarre.

His Montauk books were written almost 30 years before.  I do not know when the fictional disclaimer originated, but it is there as I have proven.
