It is a fact that Vinny joined Scientology during Vietnam.  But his draft number was never called. He could have gone to College, but he chose Scientology.  The fact is, he was too young.

The reality is actually that Barbarick was too young to have been drafted during the Vietnam War.

Barbarick would have turned 18 in 1971 and has previously stated he joined the Church of Scientology in 1971.  Inductions (drafts) had slowed to a trickle by 1971 as the War in Vietnam drew to an end.

Barbarick would not have been eligible to register for Selective Service until 1971 and would not have been affected by the draft at all, regardless of having a "Minister's Deferment" to the Church of Scientology.

Vietnam Draft ended on January 27, 1973
