Dietrich's claim about destroying film of the incident is new.  Prior to this, he had made claims about Operation Highjump back in 2012:  "Other conspiracy theorists have claimed TF-68 comprised a force totaling nearly 50 ships with thousands of troops from the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the Soviet Union participating in the "invasion." Not surprisingly, the most outlandish fictional version of Highjump is that of Douglas Duane Dietrich. In a 2012 interview, Dietrich embellished the fictional stories to include the use of dozens of WW2 era US Naval aircraft, "some Vought XF5U-1 flying disks from America's 'black program', 26 bombers stationed in South America, and a force of 3,500 US Marines flown in from New Zealand in DC-3s who were "obliterated" by the Nazis using "flugelrad" flying discs. Dietrich also described the Seaplane tender USS Pine Island as being a "catapult ship," and stumbled over the same names of other ships Zundel had misspelled. Undeniable proof that Dietrich had copied directly from page 92 of Zundel's book!

Dietrich also claims that James Forrestal, who was then SECNAV (1944) and would become the first Secretary of the newly created Department of Defense in September 1947, "went along for the ride." I provide a list of the aircraft and types used during Highjump on my blog post. The aircraft on the USS Philippine Sea were 6 Navy R4D-5s used for transport and arial photo mapping.  Only two or three aircraft were lost during the operation.  A PBM Mariner with crew of 7 and a small helicpoter. All the R4Ds were left behind and became covered in ice and snow until a follow-up mission "Operation Windmill"was able to retrieve a couple. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

"The Atlantykron Summer Academy wants to offer participants a unique experience throughout the duration of the event. A beautiful harmony with the natural environment, outdoor courses and workshops held by professionals who excel in their fields.

In order for these things to be possible, it is necessary that all participants follow a minimal set of rules, both to maintain a pleasant atmosphere and to carry out the activities undertaken safely. Therefore, for participation in the Academy, all participants undertake:

to register in advance in the program using the form on the website. Only those who have completed the form will be able to participate. (in exceptional situations, the participant can register even after the deadline, but his admission to the Academy is still conditional on acceptance into the program); to complete the registration formalities - to be present on the first day in Cernavoda at the meeting with the registration team or to contact the registration team as soon as possible after arriving on the island;

-to wear the wristband received at registration on the island in a visible place, for the entire duration of the Academy;
-to behave appropriately towards the instructors, guests and organizers , understanding that all the instructors, guests and the entire organizing team volunteer their time and effort for the running of the Academy;
-to maintain a respectful attitude towards all other participants.
-to keep the island clean ;
-to comply with the instructions received from the organizers;
-to bathe and make fire only with approval and only in the places designated by the organizers;
not to use or install unauthorized electrical installations (for charging phones or other devices, special points will be installed in this regard);
-to use the internet network made available with discretion and to respect the instructions received in this regard;
-not to organize independent activities after dark;
-not to bring alcoholic beverages onto the island;
-not to bring onto the island or consume prohibited, narcotic or hallucinogenic substances.

*Non-compliance entails the notification of the authorities and the measures required by law.

The organizers reserve the right to exclude any person from the Academy, without giving explanations. The previous set of rules is a minimal one.

The academy is aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 29. People younger than 16 can participate only in exceptional situations and only accompanied by an adult. The accompanying adult assumes full responsibility both for the behavior on the island and for keeping the person under 16 safe.
