After resubmitting a previous FOIA request to the NPRC, I have received the following response:

The response provides an NA Form 13164 and includes the previously requested information that shows Valles served 5 months in Vietnam assigned to the 503rd Infantry Regt.,  173rd Airborne Brigade.  But the official record shows he was discharged as a Private (E-1) while the Veterans Administration provided for his burial and marker saying he was a PFC (E-3)!!!

Anyway, this is the final disproval of Dietrich's claim that "Cousin Mike" or "Uncle Mike" was a Green Beret with 2 tours in Nam who raped and butchered Vietnamese including women, etc.  Dietrich stole his bullshit Presidio library visit story from the asshole author Philip Carlo who interviewed the serial killer Ramirez and stoked the bullshit "satanic panic" of the 80s.

But NARA documents from official military personnel files don't lie.  So I did my best to honor Valles's service record as a combat veteran.  What happened with Valles after Vietnam is part of the story, but Philip Carlo and Douglas Dietrich have twisted it into total insane bullshit.
