Every episode in the last panel they used to put a circle with "Make war no more" written inside. As a kid I thought, if there was no more war, the cartoonists would be out of job.  visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Last live was 12-24 and he may have had previous strikes within the past 90 days.

I don't recall the same comic. The one I had was about a tank commander who saw visions of a Confederate cavalry General.  Jeb Stuart maybe

Yeah, we talked about it in the Outlaws chat. It was an M-3 Stuart light tank haunted by I think Jeb Stuart himself. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Yeah.  But I was not allowed to buy comics, I got a few.  They came in packages with 2 or 3, Sgt Rock too.  I spent my money mostly on WW2 model aircraft.  1/48 scale -

That M-3 is a cute little tank, but I wouldn't go to war in it.

There is one not far from me at the Bath, NY VFW I think.  My first tank model was a M26 Pershing.  It had rubber bands to make it move.  It was in 1974-75.

Yeah, wikipedia confirms the M-26 entered the war at the very end. Nowhere near as famous as the Sherman, nicknamed by the Germans as the Zippo lighter.

I spent lots of time in the local libraries reading about ww2 aircraft and searching for models. Mostly Navy planes. And always 1/48 scale because although the 1/72 were smaller, they were just as expensive.  And the paint and glue too,
