Recently I bought an old refurbished JVC S-VHS VCR so I could check a bunch of old S-VHS tapes I recorded from TV shows 20-30 years ago.
I was able to use a WinTV card in my PC to capture the analog video+audio from the VCR and convert/encode to modern digital video files.
Amazingly most of the old VHS tapes were still playable in decent quality, even though I had read that video tapes will typically lose readability after 15-20 years!
I discovered on one of my old S-VHS tapes I had recorded the live interview with Art Bell from Mar 1999 that aired on CNN's Larry King Live.
This interview was on youtube sometime in the past but was removed by Turner Broadcasting for copyright violations, so I never have found it available online.
Anyway I was able today to digitize my 25 year old recording of it and encode it to a ~500MB .mp4 video file (video codec = x264, audio codec = aac) but don't know where I could upload it (not youtube) where it would not be removed like youtube did, and could be shared here.
Any ideas?
