:) Cherry Burst.

L00k at that sweet girl! What will you plug/play it through?  How do you know the guy was an Art listener? Like how does that come up in a guitar sale?

It rings well. The fingerboard was very dried out. Sitting in the case most of its 4 years and 7 days of existence, I think that might have helped it resonate so well.

I put a clip-on tuner on the headstock... It dented the finish! It's an Intellitouch Tuner*. It is a great tuner for intonation without plugging in, but by being that tight on the finish really bummed me out. I hope it self heals with a little time.

For now, I'm running through a Mustang II v2 with downloaded patches.

The pickups need to be dropped down. I am going to wrap the strings as the tailpiece is decked and the downward angle is pretty hard. I am contemplating putting .009s but the intonation adjustment on the low E is almost maxed out.

As for Art Bell being brought up... While I was meeting with him, I got an update on my terminally ill cat. I excused myself to use voice recognition to send a reply. We then got into reincarnation, because I believe my cats were reincarnated and he said he had heard lots of cases. I said "you sound like you listened to Art Bell" or something of the sort...

Taping up the headstock. I have never seen that before. I don't know what to say.

Is that something that only you do, or did you see others doing it? @sean92008

@Bart Ell Do you tape up the headstock?  Ever seen it before?

I've never seen anybody do it, it was an abundance of caution thing because this guitar is absolutely mint condition (minus a couple of sub 2 and 3 mm impressions in the finish on the back and that mark from a clip-on tuner that should level out on its own over time).

I would imagine somebody has done a card stock template of some sort that they just lay down put the strings on and pull it out.

Whenever I got a new truck or Jeep I would baby it as long as I could, but once the first windshield ding or hairline scratch happened I stopped caring. Can only baby it for so long until eventually something happens and the innocence is lost.  :P   But yeah, I get it.

Keep it in mint condition as L_____O_____N___G as you can.

If it is brand spanking new, do a break-in oil change. 800 mi, 1000 miles, doing it will save your car a lot of grief especially those crappy brands (that includes brand new Toyota models too).

No and no.
To each his own but that is worse than wearing a watch on stage.
Look at this headstock, the guitar is worthless!

Is that a laminate on the "smattering-of-birdseye" headstock? There's a bright edge that makes me suspect that.

The angles of things... I'm guessing the blocks only look crooked because of the angles... Looks like Gibson spacing too.

Now I'm remembering those tension-clamp nuts... Were those Kahler?

This is a result of relatively moderate Southern California weather. The guitar was 4 years old nearly to the day and in its case for a vast majority of that time. Four or five drops of oil for the entire guitar made this big of a difference... While I had already wiped down all the hardware, I usually start with the hardware with the fresh oiling of the rag to break down any oils and grime that might be sitting there. I then go to the fretboard. I wipe down after I apply the oil and then I go back to the hardware to wipe that off. I then use the wipe off part of the microfiber to do the finish.

(There is a lighting difference...)

Since my 35-year-old Homer Formby's lemon oil bottle broke 😭, I use Gillespie's lemon oil that was highly recommended. No waxes or silicones and apparently a more pure form of lemon oil and the petroleum is a lighter mix.

Since all my recent guitar acquisitions are for a short-term need, I would seriously consider you as a sucker potential destination...

As long as you promise to play it in the coil tap mode...
Hahaha!
