Asking where you favorite vacation spots are and why?
I’d like two answers from folks both domestically and internationally.

Within North America? Manhattan. I love the sites and I am infatuated with architecture and city skylines. I try to make some time to visit every time I go to shithole New Jersey for the annual Speed-Bag gathering in July.

Elsewhere? St. Petersburg. James Bond reasons. From Russia With Love.

St. Peterburg looks fun. I thought about Russia before the war. How does entry work? I googled some but it’s always better to ask someone who has gone there.

The Guana Tolomato Matanzas Reserve and the Okefenokee Swamp. I don’t go far.

Montreux, Switzerland
El Segundo, California because I liked the way Fred Sanford said it.

My mother-in-law is a filthy rich purebred Russian. We were there in 2017. Pre covid, pre war, pre It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

She, my MIL, also runs people over on dark unlit backcountry roads. @Bart Ell knows about it.

Never heard of this place. The beach looks pretty awesome from the pictures.

There are several destinations/places that I would like to see but these days with all the craziness I've lost my appetite for flying. Estranged wife and I had plans to rent an old apparently haunted castle for a week in England. Pretty sure that's on ice for about 806 years.  I love this continent and will see much more of it before I go and that will satisfy me.

FUCK Thailand, Fuck Paris, And Fuck Rome. Please ::)  AND FUCK EGYPT!

Absolutely. Just for the song alone. "Down in Luckenbach Texas, there ain't nobody feelin' no pain"  Coz there's nobody there - one could argue. If they have a saloon I'll go.

Hopefully my next trip will be Burma, South India, and Sri Lanka.

I once went to Thailand with the intent of using that as a jumping off point to Burma, but it was so hot I just stayed in Bangkok for 2 weeks.  Which was fine because I love the temples, palaces, museums, neighborhoods, street food, and used book stores (and new book stores) anyway.  It's always going to be hot in all those places but it's still a shock stepping off the airconditioned plane, even at 11pm.

Maybe next time I'll fly to KL or Singapore, so I can at least be somewhere different if I decide to stay put.

A trip to Memphis for Blues, Nashville for country, 'Nawlins for Jazz, Seatle for grunge, and Austin for R&R would be a good trip.  Even just one of them.  I really hate burnt orange so maybe cross Austin off the list.

Here you go.

It’s pretty countryside, one of my favorite parts of Texas, just down the road from more “citified” Fredericksburg. I can see why that bastard LBJ had his ranch in the area.

Wait, isn't that how everyone pronounces it?
