If I use Roundup on weeds and vegetation the plant is pretty much dead the next day and basically dust in two days.
If I use HDX or Spectracide weed killer, the vegetation looks a little sickly for a couple of days but then recovers and
keeps on trucking.   Yet if I look at the active ingredient - it is  glyphosate for all three brands.

The question for Bart Ell:  "Is Monsanto in league with Lucifer?"

I say put a new driveway over your problem driveway.

May I add that there might be some great websites on natural or alternative weed killing.  My dad always used bark dust (the dust, or bark mulch, not just beauty bark).  We did weed, though.  I tend to weed with a shovel; a lot easier, then after I dig them out, I lean over with or without a reacher and pull the thing up and shake it out.  Good ground cover plants preclude weeds.  Evergreen trees also stop weeds underneath themselves.  Some weeds aren't so bad, too.

Glysophate comes in different concentrations, even among the different Roundup products.
Some weeds, such as dollar weed, are edible.

1. Bart, can you put me in that shed, or whatever that zoo of yours is for awhile? I just need a break from everybody and perhaps some downtime will help. What about conjugal visits while I'm in there? Do the visits have to be from a forum member only? If so, who will you be sending to take care o' the kid every few days?

2. Simple answer please. Do you like devils food chocolate cake over the lighter ones? I do.

Wow, I haven't heard that in many years. Sometimes it's nice to hear something for the first time, all over again. :)

Nothing wrong with Monsanto.
Fantastic company.
Great results.
Maybe great results for their weed killer... Not so much their stock after a second ruling that roundup caused cancer. The payout in the first case was around 75 million... Only another 11,200 cases in the U.S courts against Monsanto right now...

People are so sensitive.
I will gladly give up a few people to have a weedless lawn.

I've done that, it works! Even more you can scatter their ashes over the grassy areas.

@WOTR

People were aware of the lawsuits and lawsuits pending but BAYER AG  still paid big bucks for them ($63 BILLION.) Crazy.

"Closing the deal required nearly two years of wrangling with regulators. Bayer filed some 40 million pages of paperwork" <-- this was for the regulators, NOT for the paperwork for the merger, the sale of the seed business to BASF, and the financing!  Amazing. And crazy. I wonder what M&A Firms handled to the deal. Or if most of this was done in house? That is some billable hours!!

On a more practical note, can you imagine trying to get your place weed-free without Roundup?

Spectracide and some of the others just don't cut it.

Top tip - want to make Roundup work even better? Add a few tablespoons of Dawn dish liquid to the mix, it adheres and holds to the weeds leaves much better.

I just weed by hand, mainly. And maintain good top dressing, compost, etc and weeds not much of a problem. But I did use Roundup on some Poison Ivy on a fence at one place where the weed was really in neighbor's yard but due to "language issues" and some suspect contacts they seem to have with the police, didn't want to deal with them. RoundUp worked amazingly....but, unfortunately it rained and there was a spot where grass wouldn't grow for two years!  RoundUp works! For good, or it seems, bad.

Could you explain what the problem was w the pair of photos I posted recently?  Was it because at 1 time (yrs. earlier) I'd been trying to make $ off it, & you took it as advertising?  I haven't bothered to take the sales info off the related page.  The content itself I thought was about as inoffensive as pix could get.  I know this isn't some white-power site, so it couldn't've been the mixed-race subjects.

Seems I have a knack for giving offense online w/o intending to, this is far from the 1st place.  It's always something different, & on some sites I can never figure it out.  Often people just take incorrectly something I wrote.  Last time was on a discussion board where I wound up getting kicked off for asking what I was doing wrong!  (Just posting opinions, no graphics.)  But I'm told the people there are nuts like that.  It's usually been the forums dominated by women that are the most senstive or crazy.  In other cases it's been about my questioning some authority figure to whom they look for technical expertise, & whom they're afraid will be driven away by my seeming doubts; usually those figures are not as stuck up as their hosts think.  Meanwhile in many of those forums participants all around will be flaming, & I'm just trying to be a nice guy, but they'll take that as passive-aggressive or some such.

TIA.  Mostly fun here, but a lot of inside jokes I don't think worth my while trying to get.

I'm guessing that they did the math, and it worked out (somehow.) The valuation placed on a company with known legal liabilities just seems insane. But then, I'm not a Harvard trained bean counter...  ;)

I'm offended by your masochist, male oriented ramblings and obvious bias against women. It is exactly statements such as these that we all need to rally against to ensure that all feel welcome and safe on a forum. In short, I'm offended.  :'(

*O.K. Not really... But it's fun to pretend.  8) I don't know what pictures they were, was not the one who took them down, and will have to wait for a real response...

I always hire a few illegal aliens to weed my lawn. Cheaper than Roundup. Much healthier. And better for the environment. Bus those families to my house
