Old FM disc jockey trick _ mount it at about 45-60 degrees and talk across it rather than into it.  It picks up more bass frequencies and makes your voice sound deeper.

@JUAN Back to it for a moment now that I am actually awake and not posting from beddy-weddy with sleep in my eyes and in need of a diaper change.  I don't why they would come to that conclusion, because low frequencies rise while higher bands drop. If anything they should have raised the mic up and pointed down on a 45 to achieve a warmer fuller bottom end. Much easier for proximity effect with straight on direction for the "voice of God" sound as well.  Bart, you know this!

1. 45 angle up
2. 00 Straight on
3. 45 angle down

HA! I just posted my examples. I'll do another angled from side. I don't think it will make any difference. You'll hear the straight on vs angled.

It's to avoid plosives.
They wouldn't talk into the mic, they would mic their voices off axis to get rid of the plosives and then they could crank the low end and not worry about the added airflow from those letters.

Yeah.. I was hoping that was just my own exclusive 'please don't do it Larry' observation   Not sure what they are doing with the Maria Sofia thing but it would be a better way to go IMO. She's just that irritating and unpredictable.
