An old classmate of mine, Tammy, works in costume and makeup for movies and television. She mentioned that hiding tattoos has ended up taking more time than anything else they do. It has increased chair time but productions are still hiring at a lower rate if there are no prosthetics involved. When there's extras or people in the background, they just use body stockings...
