Like a sad Twilight Zone episode.
Well that was an exorcise in sadness. When you said 16 days I expected a happy ending as I was expecting a rescue. Damn, that's a harsh one to wrap your mind around. You have to wonder about the many varying conversations they had in their fleeting time.. together. They're free now.
Narration was brilliant.
Pretty awful. Although they did rescue over 30 guys from the
Oklahoma. Stuff of nightmares though. Most of those sunken battleships were refloated, cleaned up, modernized and returned to service well before the wars end. The guys involved in those efforts were unbelievable. Imagine all the muck, human remains, oil and rubbish.....

Bon Homme Richard had a bad fire while docked - probably through arson [the dude that was accused was acquitted]. The estimated time to repair the ship was 7 years so it was broken for razor blades. Our Father's and Grandfather's could get shit done when the chips were down.
