Read this in High School a jillion years ago.  Donaldson creates an interesting fantasy world.  Wood guys, Stone guys, Giants, Warriors, Lords and 500 bad ass karate guys that never eat, sleep or take women due to their vow.  It'll never be made into a movie or TV show due to the actions of the leper, main character when he enters the new world.
