The Bills had another convincing win last Sunday night. Of course, they were playing the defunct Patriots so it was also an easy win. Got to see Belichick throw a phone down in disgust and that was fun. Then Newton got replaced with a backup quarterback, and here lies a great hypocrisy with professional football. Picture yourself being hired to back up a team's primary quarterback. You are payed millions to be ready to step in at a moments notice and yet, by and large, you aren't needed for an entire year, or years. Then, when the time finally comes, you enter the game and run plays right up the middle or throw short passes that rarely meet their mark. And yet millions of bucks will continue to come your way. Of course there are exceptions like Tony Romo, but somehow I get the impression that good backup quarterbacks are as rare as hen's teeth.
