I don't think the taxpayers should be paying for stadiums either.

They left on their own, they could have built their own stadium and stayed.

Exactly. But I'm glad they didn't

Same here for me with the Raiders, I do have sympathy for their fans, although too many of them took things way too far and in recent years it was actually dangerous to go to their games.  Maybe it's getting to be that way everywhere now.

The fans should own the teams, like they do in Green Bay.  These owners mostly all suck - sometimes a team has a good owner, like Eddie D in SF all those years, and the Warriors owners now, but it's too rare.

One of the worst was the Sonics leaving Seattle.  Sonic basketball history just erased... to move to Oklahoma.

All this Chargers talk reminds me of the second best game that I ever watched. Chargers at Miami. Chargers jump out to a 24 to 0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Shula sends in Don Strock of the bench and throws for 400 yards in 3 quarters and the Dolphins tie the game at 38 to 38 with a chance to win on a last second field goal.  Winslow whom had had a good of a game that a tight end could ever have then blocks von Schamann's kick and the Chargers win in over time.

The ole hook and ladder play really stands out in that game- one of the truly epic plays in NFL lore.  The Chargers went from subtropical warmth in Miami to sub-zero cold in Cincinnati the next week.  The Freezer Bowl remains the coldest game in league history if you count wind chill (-59 F), 2nd coldest otherwise.

By the way WAN, what was the best game you saw?

I loved the Nickelodeon presentation of Cowboys Niners. I thought it was cute and a lot fun. The color commentator Nate Burleson did an A+ job in keeping it light for the demo they were going but still giving out good info and insight into the game,

Oh and as a Pack fan who saw Mike McCarthy ruin many playoff runs for my team, this is perfect at the end of the Nickelodeon game

Ty Cobb wasn't as bad as the legend goes.  That's for another thread though.

Well...damn.  I looked into it, and that was an illuminating read.

“Joe Burrow overcame constant harassment from the Titans' defensive front, which sacked him nine times...”

That is one tough dude.  :o  And the Bengals actually won the game.

What!! lol?

I wonder what the record is for most sacks taken in a win, playoffs and reg season.

Imagine getting hit like that but wearing protection like this.

I haven't checked the schedule. Who are The Cowboys playing next?

Too soon?

Some guy on Twitter was posting this during the game.

“Since 1982, teams are 1-5 when surrendering at least 8 sacks in the playoffs.

If it gets to 9, teams are 0-3.

There's never been 10 sacks in a playoff game.”

Nothing like winning a game when a game when the QB is spending a ton of time on his back.

I watched the Titans - Bengals game.  I found it to be a rather lackluster game and both sides had trouble with the opposing defense.  I think that's why the Bengals were able to get a win despite Joe being sacked so many times.  Now the Bengals will meet the winner of the Kansas City - Buffalo game.  I certainly don't envy them.  That K.C. - Buffalo game should be a good one to watch.

Apparently, taking 9 sacks trumps throwing 3 interceptions. ;) It didn’t hurt that the Bengals had a kicker that was nailing long field goals all game long.

Maybe spending hours of your time doing interviews whining about how much of a victim you are because of your anti-vaccine stance wasn't the best use of Rodgers time on playoff week. 10 points at home and getting out clutched by Jimmy freakin  Garoppolo. As a Packer fan I am tired of this guys playoff choke job every year.

I'm a Niners fan, and just this year my affection for Rodgers turned into hate and disgust.  Fuck Rodgers with a log.  ANYONE literally ANYONE wins the Super Bowl but him.  And now he gets to sit on his sofa and watch Dead Man Passing play in the Conference Championship.  I could not be happier in my life than I am right now.
