When Brady has to go back to work because of the rising cost of food and gasoline you better have your freezer and pantry stocked up.
Lmao! Poor Brady. Stand up for Tom!

Actually I heard it was because he was stuck at home with the wife and kids for 6 weeks and said “Where’s Gronk when I need him?”
Are we having fun yet?

@ShayP Thoughts?

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33501853/source-qb-mitchell-trubisky-plans-sign-two-year-deal-pittsburgh-steelers

This is the guy that the Bears drafted in 2017. The Bears traded FOUR draft picks to move up ONE spot in the draft order. Because there weren’t any other quarterbacks a available that year you ask?  They skipped Mahomes and Watson to pick a guy that was a backup for his first 2 years in a minor university program, started a total of 13 games and entered the draft in his junior year. I guess because he had beaten Stanford in the bowl game, they were worried the 49ers would pick him. The 49ers didn’t even draft a QB with their 1st round choice but apparently they WERE scouting that bowl game because they chose a DE from Stanford named Solomon Thomas. They didn’t pick a QB until the third round. C.J. Beathard. Now that guy got replaced quickly by Garrapolo.

Trubisky did win more games than he lost in Chicago but he certainly didn’t shine like Mahomes or Watson.

Are we having fun yet?

Gronks probably the reason Tom came back. One trip on the boat was all it took.

I love it.  @GravitySucks   They are saying here that it will be a QB competition but barring injury and how quickly he learns the playbook, Mitch should be the starter.  He was the scapegoat in Chicago.  Thrown to the wolves after just starting one season at NCU and coming out after his junior year.  The talent was there and he showed it for two seasons. The coach, Matt Nagy, was inflexible in his schemes and especially his play calling.  I think Bears fans realized that when Justin Fields struggled last year.  A lightbulb went off in their heads.  Granted, Nagy lead them to the playoffs twice.  They lost both.  It wasn't solely Trubisky's fault.  They couldn't run the ball.

In addition, the Bears O-Line stunk for years.  Mitch was young (I think 21, maybe 22) when he was drafted.  Then he goes to a team where he has no protection and a coach that refused to let him have any say in the play calling for his whole career there.  The kid is talented.  27 now, and still has the skill set and potential.  He fits the Steelers offensive scheme.  Our O-line sucks but I think they will make some improvements there and Mitch has already learned his lesson in Chicago.  His year in Buffalo helped.

He's very good at throwing over the middle of the field and the Steelers WRs and TEs do well at running those routes and making plays.  Mitch can move around the pocket and throw darts, which suites the style of offense we play now.

I'm rooting for him.  Not only because I'm a Steelers fan, but I believe still has the talent to be the starter.   And even though I'm critical of Mike Tomlin, he is a far better coach than Nagy.

If they start the season with Mason Rudolph as the starter, I give it 2 games before Mitch takes over.  He can thrive here if he's shown growth and we beef up the O-Line.

I was a happy camper at the prospects of announcers Troy Aikman and Joe Buck going their own separate ways at the end of the season.  Oh, they went their separate ways all right, to the very same destination.  I like Troy well enough but to my ears, those two guys sound exactly the same.  Same tone of voice, and same manner of speaking.  Oh well, I'll just go back to listening to Troy say, "Yeah, well." and I will know that it is him speaking.

And even though I'm critical of Mike Tomlin,

Serious question: Are there any Pittsburgh fans who are not critical of Tomlin?

* Has had a winning season every season of his 15 year career
* Nine playoff appearances; seven division titles, 3 AFC championship games, two Super Bowls, one Super Bowl win
* 154-85-2 record with Steelers
* Successfully coached Antonio Brown

WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE REASON WHY PITTSBURGH FANS ARE CRITICAL OF MIKE TOMLIN?????

Oh.

Because he looks like an angry frog?  Because it looks like he might whip out a forked tongue ribbon and eat a fly on live television?

If he did it, even Cleveland fans would celebrate.

It's because he's black.  What other reason could it be?  ::)  Joking.  Being critical comes in different measures.  I'm critical of his clock management, the way he handled Antonio Brown and LeVeon Bell when they were disrupting the team, and other players for that matter.  At times it seems he's letting the inmates run the asylum.  He may be a "players coach" but the coach has to make a strong statement and not by using a bunch of word salad.

His adjustments in the game, playing down to the level of an inferior opponent and losing...sometimes badly. That's on the players too, but his decision making is in question during those games.  Lack of aggressiveness.  Just one example...4th and inches, close to field goal range, you're behind, and you punt?

He may have successfully coached Antonio Brown but he was reluctant to discipline him.  Recording team meetings and putting it on social media.  Not showing up to practice.  Tantrums on the sidelines.  How would Belichick handle that!?  Not the way Tomlin did that's for sure, but that's water under the bridge.

Oh, another criticism is that he says "Obviously" too much in press conferences.  ;) :D

And to answer your 'serious question', there are many that gush over Tomlin.  Some that hate him.  People like me that are in the middle.  Every coach is going to be critiqued and criticized by armchair quarterbacks.  I was the same with Bill Cowher.  The gist of it @HamsterMuscle is that Steelers fans have been spoiled.  Only 3 head coaches since 1969.  Been to 8 Super Bowls and won 6.  Every single season we expect making the playoffs and winning.  That's not realistic.  At least this Yinzer understands that.  Most don't.

Angry frog.  Nah, more like Mario Epps.

Upset? The dude should be ecstatic. He just Jeannie'd himself out of Cleveland. He's got more money than he can ever spend and now may end up someplace fun to live.

You’d think but he’s Baker Mayfield and The Brownies hurt his feelings.

“Mayfield wrote what felt like a goodbye letter to the fans of Cleveland. The Browns leaked to Chris Mortensen that they want an “adult” at quarterback.”  ;D
