You’d think but he’s Baker Mayfield and The Brownies hurt his feelings.

“Mayfield wrote what felt like a goodbye letter to the fans of Cleveland. The Browns leaked to Chris Mortensen that they want an “adult” at quarterback.”  ;D

So they get Watson? LoL

The tradition continues for the Browns.  ;D  I wonder how long he’ll last.

“Deshaun Watson willing to waive no-trade clause for Cleveland Browns, who are set to give him $230M guaranteed, sources say...”

Ha, ha, ha. Enjoy, Cleveland.  And I’m sure Watson can enjoy Cleveland at a guaranteed 230 mil.

Three #1 picks and $230M.  They were that desperate to give Mayfield the broom.

If you know the Browns, you know the ledgers must be balanced. And the karmic cost for this team to experience success is always astronomical.  All it will take is one Alex Smith play.  Just one, say, in the 2nd quarter of the first game of the season.

Maybe he should become a baker

He’s always been somewhat of an asshat.  Running from the cops and getting tackled, trying to plant a flag in artificial turf, acting like a complete ass in Kansas... I can understand the Browns wanting to move on.  But to Deshaun Watson?  Eh, from the frying pan to the fire?  Heh, I’m still laughing for them going with Brady Quinn and Johnny Football.  That team never seems to learn.

John Clayton, one of the most prominent national NFL reporters who worked at ESPN for over 20 years, died on Friday. He was 67.

Clayton began his career at the Pittsburgh Press covering the Steelers, before moving to Seattle to cover the Seahawks for the Tacoma News Tribune in the mid 1980’s. He reached ESPN in 1995.

One of the best ESPN commercials:

I saw a listing of some picks... I saw the name Stingley.

Turns out he is the grandson of Darryl Stingley. They said it was a preseason game (Raiders and Patriots), but I swear I watched it because I remember that incident on video. Surely, in the 70s, they didn't have preseason games on TV. I do remember it was in Oakland, it was still daylight when it happened.

Looking over the picks, I noticed that too.

I remember someone asking him if Tatum ever apologized.  He said it would be like expecting a dog to apologize.

At least some teams had preseason games on local TV.

It’s hilarious to listen to the Gator Homers on Jacksonville sports talk radio.  The idea of the Jaguars taking a Georgia player first has them apoplectic.

I listened to sports talk radio this morning at some ungodly hour. Apparently that first pick was not considered by anybody as worthy of a top pick. Something about he doesn't have the mental and physical tools... There is also a comment that the GM is short-lived for the job if this pick doesn't work out. They also referenced his previous picks while in San Francisco that didn't work out.

Baalke is well hated.
Walker is 6’5” and 272-lbs. He ran the 40 at the combine in 4.51. I don’t see how he doesn’t have the measurable.  What he doesn’t have are quarterbacks. Georgia, however created a new defense a few years ago that emphasizes gap control by the defensive linemen.  It allows them to stop the run with only the three linemen and a couple of linebackers.  Thus, none of the Georgia linemen had many sacks.  There’s speculation the NFL will be moving to something similar.
