Why is the Baby Boomer generation so "hard"? Why do they value stoicism over vulnerability? To understand the psychology of Baby Boomers, we must look beyond the economic prosperity of the Golden Age and look into the silent trauma of their upbringing.

In this psychological deep dive, we analyze the environment that shaped the Boomer mind: from the emotionally distant parenting of the post-WWII era and the dangerous freedom of 1950s playgrounds to the existential dread of the Cold War and the shattering assassinations of the 1960s. This video is not a judgment, but an attempt to bridge the gap between generations by uncovering the hidden scars of the past.

We explore how "Duck and Cover" drills, the assassination of JFK, and the chaos of 1968 created a generation that learned to hide their fear behind a wall of silence. Whether you are a Boomer looking to understand your own past, or a Millennial/Gen Z trying to understand your parents, this video essay reveals the cost of resilience.

As a geezer-American, we were toughened by our parents because Hitler was in a submarine off the coast of South America and could come back and minute, and the Depression was definitely coming back.  I think they were more afraid of the Depression than Hitler.

Really interesting. I'm a bit younger. But my grandparents came from the Midwest and moved to California during WWII. I think because the men were stationed out here so the wives came out and settled out here. I and my cousins were First Generation Southern Californians.
There really was a big Generation Gap. The older folks were very shut down. Unemotional. What will the neighbors think? Never discuss important problems. The kids let it all hang out. Long hair. Dressed weird. Had weird ideas. I was younger than the Woodstock hippies but my older cousins were right in the middle of that era. It was pretty cataclysmic for the older folks, with those "damn.hippies"

When I was seven I cried when one of our horses kicked me right in my PRIVATE AREA. Was way out somewhere in the acreage and it was a long walk back to the house with the 19 hands high dog food named Molly who liked to pick on young developing males.

Fuck you Molly. You're dirty tricks didn't work for I have sired!

Also, there are two distinct groups of boomers - those who were subject to the draft, and those who reached 18 after the draft ended.

Very nicely done. It’s very white middle class centric but has value nonetheless. I see a lot of genX in this too.
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.
