There times, I really enjoy bagpipe music.
"Hector The Hero" is my top favorite song.

I wonder what song did William Speirs Bruce (1867 – 1921) played for the Emperor penguin in his two-year-long Scottish National Antarctic Expedition?

A little late with this but posting it in tribute to Neil Innes who died on 12/29.....song by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band...kind of the missing link between The Beatles and Monty Python.  This is their only hit produce by Apollo C. Vermouth aka Paul McCartney.

+1 more introduced by future Innes collaborator, Eric Idle.

"Supernatural, perhaps. Baloney, perhaps not. There are many things under the sun." - Bela Lugosi as Dr. Vitus Verdegast in The Black Cat.

Check out JonathanOng's Twitch feed. Dr. Ong is an awesome piano/keyboard/flute (and more) player. He is currently teaching music and has been playing for 29+ years. He streams from his studio in Australia.

The link below is from a few nights ago when he was live learning a song.

At about the 05:48:00 mark (yes, that's the 5 hour mark - his streams can go for 6 or 7 hours) he starts with a request, sometimes hearing the song for the first time. He then creates various tracks for the song.

At about the 06:18:00 mark most of the tracks have been created and the results are amazing.

I keep randomly checking Reina Del Cid’s website just 3-5 days before they are set to play at a venue near where I happen to be.

I saw them in Houston last May and in Washington DC in November. Just bought tickets for their Houston show on Tuesday. Got my picture taken with them in DC.

Are we having fun yet?

Can you walk on the water if I, you and I?
Be'Cause your blood’s running cold outside the familiar true to life
Can you walk on the water if I, you and I?
Or keep your eyes on the road and live in the familiar without you and I
It glows with gates of gold true to life

For our love is a ghost that the others can’t see
It’s a danger
Every shade of us you fade down to keep
them in the dark on who we are
(Oh what you do to me)
This love is gonna be the death of me
It’s a danger
'Cause our love is a ghost that the others can’t see

We took a walk to the summit at night, you and I
To burn a hole in the old grip of the familiar true to life
And the dark was opening wide, do or die
Under a mask of vermillion ruling eyes

And our love is a ghost that the others can’t see
It’s a danger
Every shade of us you fade down to keep
them in the dark on who we are
(Oh what you do to me)
Gonna be the death of me
It’s a danger
'Cause our love is a ghost that the others can’t see

I heard this one today in a much clearer audio and well, now every Christmas when one of Gene's songs play, I'll forever think of this.

"Supernatural, perhaps. Baloney, perhaps not. There are many things under the sun." - Bela Lugosi as Dr. Vitus Verdegast in The Black Cat.
