Please know that this bumpus guy does not represent Texas.  My children are all born and raised in Texas.  One son at Texas A&M, another interviewing with MIT.  This guy is not the typical Texan.

Good point dave.  Maybe if journalists actually just covered and reported the news rather than what they have been doing we would not have this problem to begin with.

No, you are not out of tune.

Dave, If one day we can teach our pets to drive and pick up some beer during the game, that is helping people.

I have never been on an actual investigation.  But as far as scariest ghost/spirit/demonic related event I would say mine was as a 6th grader up in Pocatello.  My grandparents lived in an old house across from the train tracks that was once a bordello.  Eventually they had another house built next to the bordello house and they moved into that.  But that was after living in the bordello house for at least 16 years and with many children.  I call it the bordello house because it was once a literal bordello/bar back in the days of the lawless west.  It was built right across from where the train tracks came through just for that purpose.  My aunts and uncles have some stories that would make your hair stand up.  Anyhow I used to stay the night at my grandparents new house and would sleep on the couch in the living room that was right behind the big windows which overlooked the old bordello house.  At night I would look out the window and see all these glowing eyes looking out at me from the broken out windows of that house.  Which were likely cats, but still....  So I was already creeped out by it.  Well a couple years later I was over there at that property for some reason.  We were exploring around the old bordello house, which by they way, is a two story house with a balcony and is red.  A pretty big house.  So while exploring, a couple of uncles, who were more like big brothers and close in age, tricked me into going into the cellar of the bordello house and then closed and locked the door.  Now you want to talk about terror?  OH MY GOD.  I don't know if the house still had power, but the only light was down at the bottom of the stairs.  There was no way in hades I was going to walk down those stairs and find out if the light worked.  So I screamed for a while and finally just got quiet hoping If I did not move and was quiet anything that might be there would not know I was there.  I began to actually feel the hair on my body stand up.  And fear was welling up in my even more.  And I swear there was something down at the bottom of those stairs.  I am pretty sure I was crying at this point.  Then I began to hear the old wooden stairs creak at the bottom as if something was coming up the stairs.  Step by step by step.  And it was a slow methodical climb.  I lost it.  I turned back to the door and began banging as hard as I could and screaming my head off.  My uncles opened the door and I ran out as fast as I have ever ran in my life.

there are other stories about that house as well.  It was most definitely haunted.  And not in a good way.

Great story!! Will the other stories be told at some point?

And here the look I was trying to pull off was winterized Canadian lumberjack.

I'm thinking a 16th century seer.

No flannel, no lumberjack...

He's making sure you put clean underwear on.

I need to do a little write up of all my stories I have.  There is one from my dad's side of the family that I don't know if they would want told in a forum.  It is truly one "hell" of a story.  But I do have other stories that are just downright freaky from them and that house.  My personal stories are just weird things that kind of freak me out.  Nothing as scary as that one I told when I was in the cellar.  Maybe they should have been, but that cellar experience was flat out terrifying.  I still can recall how I felt to this day.  I tell that story when we get together and every one of my uncles talk about that cellar and how they hated going down there to get the potatoes or the preserved foods.  The light switch/pull string being down at the bottom was just the worst.  Turns out I am not the only person to have had experiences down there.  That said, the experiences in the other part of the house are just as, or even more, weird.
