When I was 7 I shot a good sized bat with my 22 from about 7-8" away. It was just hanging off the barbwire gate. It spun around about 10 or so times and then returned to the position that found it. No blood. No nothing. Freaked me the fuck out and I ran back to the house.

At my office when I lived in Las Vegas, a bat was outside the office doors. A few employees went through the lunchroom refrigerator and found a bunch of fruit pieces to feed it. They all got shots!

It was pretty cool to be in the desert like that. I'd be with the kids playing in a small community park and bats would fly overhead in the early evening. Pretty damn cool.

Check this out.  This is thousands of bats emerging into the night sky from the Waugh Drive overpass in downtown Houston.  They come out most nights, right at sunset.  It’s so popular, they’ve even built a viewing area for it.

Well, bats in Austin are expected, that's like the portal to Hades.  Another person that I know of, indirectly as it may be, an older woman was beat up by a homeless guy. Multiple bruises swollen eye, etc. She's selling her house in Austin and getting out.

Oh, you bet.  It’s a similar situation to Austin.  Highway overpasses with undersurfaces that have small gaps that are just the right size for bats to nest in.

I’ve been to the Waugh Bridge site and it’s quite spectacular to witness.  It’s right on Buffalo Bayou.
