Some abusers don't even have the decency to attempt that "hineymoon phase" you mention.

I know people will disagree with me, but when police were called a couple times, it would have helped enormously if they had checked all states' records, not just the state we were in.  Abusers can be real actors and actresses, feigning timidity, even feigning fear - all the while having out-of-state records for assault on police and domestic violence!  Financial abuse can occur too.  Then you decide whether to pjrsue collection with the support of fami!y, take the person to court, or just GTFO.

The worst was when an abuser male manipulates the cop (usually male) and he plays buddy "Well, you know how they get" and they both laugh it off. Well into the 1980s this is how it frequently happened until certain rules were put into effect to take at least one party away from the scene.

Women need to speak up and stop protecting abusers.  I told u about my sister getting beat up with a gun. she never spoke up and i had to see it for myself snd he was going to shoot me my brother in law. I told you how i ran and hid under the truck and the garage. My sister stayed quiet and never told me she was being hit in the face with a gun. So she got what she deserved and it was her fault. You have to speak up or you cant play victim. Just saying heidi

yes i am, because my older sister used to get beat up by her husband for years and she just cried and never told anyone about it. every time we told her if we should call the cops she would say no. He even beat me, dragged me from my neck and choked me, i was 14. He was a strong and muscular.

They are domestic abuse claims where the woman (usually) swears out the warrant, the alleged abuser is arrested and held until the next session of court. Probably 95% of the time, in court the women refused to continue prosecution, and the man was released. I saw this happen thousands of time.
