As promised, here is my friend Tom (a professional photographer) was in the very first line in front starting the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade today... wrangling the Chase from Paw Patrol balloon that started the parade. He and his friend Rod (another photographer) are the first two guys on the right of the photo in yellow, holding the right-most cable to the balloon. He said it was bitter bitter cold the whole route, but still fun, and especially fun to lead off the parade! He also said the hardest part of doing this every year is not being able to rest or to go to the bathroom for the entire route of the parade, which takes quite a long time...hours! <g>
In the midst of all our Thanksgiving eve merriment here, I would like to acknowledge that tonight I am feeling very blessed and so grateful for my life, my beloved marital unit, my loved ones, and you all here.I hope that if any of us feels burdened, is struggling or is unhappy that our burdens are eased, our suffering is uplifted to happiness, and our struggles turn into abundant well-being NOW! So be it!I especially want to say thank you to Bart Ell for getting this forum set up so quickly after Bellgab closed down so suddenly, and for maintaining this place and creating a feeling of real community here for all of us clever, nutty, smart, eclectic Ellgabbers here.Thank you Bart, the Ellgab community means a lot to me, and you have brought life and fun and great exchanges into many of our lives.+1 to you seems like a puny and silly acknowledgement, but there it is... so +1 to you and thank you for everything you do for us!Praise BE and Clickacy!
You know, PBS, I believe that what we do comes back to us threefold, so they are sowing the seeds of their own bad karma by smiting you. I only very very rarely smite anyone, and usually when/if I do, it's because I'm feeling especially exhausted and impatient, and it's an impulse reaction. Seriously, I don't really want the real-world karma of creating unnecessary smites, know what I mean?I hope you have a sweet day tomorrow with no family drama.
So in the middle of our cheerful conversations, here's a tidbit from WadeGab tonight. Very indicative of HW's vindictive personality, tough girl that she wants us to think she is. I don't think she's particularly resilient nor even tough, just really mean and enjoying being mean, misinterpreting that for strength. As I mentioned earlier if we're not aware of our actions, karma can be a bitch.Phooey!
Oh we sure did. Gorgeous blue skies and an island by the sea pretty much to ourselves. This empty nest business has it's advantages!
