While I was reasonably sure his threat was not credible or actionable under current practices, (prior to your first response) in my opinion and the opinion's of several others it was in bad taste, no matter what PW's intent was.
Just because you consider something to be in bad taste does not mean that it should be censored. That is basically what you want to achieve in a passive aggressive way, isn't it? Be honest. You say you and "others" were offended. Kindly speak for yourself and let other parties do likewise. That way you don't appear to be the mouthpiece for some monolithic group at EG who has chosen you as their spokesperson. Basically what you want is other posters at EG to not offend you with their posts. That's not how life or the internet works.
As for John Cleese, the specific sketch you talked about was not a BBC product (as an example of their censorship), and the humour was not about gratuitous violence, but vectored on absurdity. Same idea as Tom and Jerry, the Coyote and the Roadrunner. Nothing new under the Sun. I wouldn't want him banned from comedy. Regarding sites ending up with 3 posters, that is a bit of a slippery slope. Snooze-fest? Does it all have to be about entertainment? Isn't what you have learned here reward enough?
Exactly. Vectored on absurdity. Such as SV's post was. Yet you had a pretty strong knee jerk reaction yesterday. Regarding the sites with 3 posters, you obviously don't get around the internet much. There are plenty of sites, even on Facebook that have a handful of posters. You might want to check out this site:
https://paranormalforum.net/ No offense to Bob Bain who does a great show, but the forum is a church lady forum. If you post there, you may need to wait a couple of hours for a response from one of the same few people who post there. Again, no offense to that forum, I'm sure they are lovely people, but I'd rather watch paint dry.
PPS) For Brig. Before you advocate for the Anarchic and censorship free society, consider all the things that protect your comfortable place with the beautiful overlook. You probably wouldn't like living in the world you idealize. Think about it. (you can TL/DR the above like you did on my post in Feb 2017, or read it and consider the diverse viewpoints you claim to want to understand.)
Did Brig advocate Anarchy? I must have missed that post. You remeber a post she made back in February? You seem to have an axe to grind with our esteemed Brig.
