Engagement with miller is like dealing with a crazy homeless person. There's a brick wall between rationality and what's going on in that mind.
Considering the online circles he runs/ran in, it appears he did not listen to his addiction counselor(s). The self-evident and admitted alcohol and prostitutes are just symptoms of something deeper and darker. There is no rational conversation with that brain.
Deductive reasoning makes the case that the rumors of his death were strictly to generate some sort of sympathy or pity. When he didn't get it, that ruse needed to end so he could return to his bad kitty antics to garner attention. It was victimizing Damon... That is, of course, if any of this is true because Damon might have made up the dead rumor himself or colluded with millie.
It does seem to me that the family environment he was raised in was very much about entitlement and certainly didn't teach him about consequences. It's similar in feel to what Anthony George Senda had. Here's a pork chop, millie, feel better...
Why anyone would enter into a friendship with somebody who is such a user is beyond me. Those are the vampires of time, spirit and brain power that people with real lives can little afford to waste.
