I never shared my Albie's visit story.  I was not sure how this story would go over.  Jokes and at worst insults. Very encouraging to read @Desmond 'cat visit and @timebandit 's dog visit.

I had an aging dog and was making trips to the vet for treatments about every two weeks. As I was paying the bill one day on the way out I noticed a picture of two kittens up for adoption. One only had 3 legs, vets said some kids found them in bad shape and walked in with them, had to amputate one leg on one, and the vets nursed them back to health.

So of course I adopt them and take them home with me and the dog... they were great for my dying dog and he lived six months longer than the vets thought he could.

Anyway, fast forward four years and one of the cats has a tumor. Got sick in Jan and one day in April I knew it was time to let him go. Took both to the vet so his brother would know why his pal was gone.

My remaining cat loves to lay on my desk while I am sitting there working on the computer. The night that his brother died I go to bed and about a minute later I feel a cat jump on the bed, and proceed to walk up my right side as I am laying on my left. He gets up to my chest and lays down, and starts doing the paw kneeding motion on me with two front paws and purring. I said something like " hey buddy"... and thought about the cat we lost that day.

It takes me a few seconds to realize that my surviving cat can't do that since he has only one front paw. He can only do that if he is lying on his side and reaching out with his one front paw. Also he walks in a type of bunny hop which is very distinctive... the cat walked up my side in a normal fashion. I felt him walk up my leg and torso

So I quickly reach back and turn my head ... nothing. No cat, no purring, no paws kneeding me.

I glance out my  bedroom door and the motion activated nightlight just outside the door in the hallway is not on. I get up and walk out to the den and my 3 legged cat is still snoozing on my desk, where he was when I went to bed.

I believe my furry friend came back to tell me goodbye... the vet agreed when I told her, she says she has heard the same type of things happening to other patients.

The memory of this is both pleasant and sad.  I miss that cat!

Dear Friends,

I once had a talking parrot. Mr McBird was very talented and spoke many words. The local TV station wanted to do a piece about him and on the day they showed up he was found deceased in his cage. I was sad but remembered I had a VHS recording of Mr McBird speaking and wanted to show it to the reported who agreed to watch the video tape. I had watched this tape several times before so I knew what was on it however when I played the video it only showed only my bird chirping and not talking. I was totally shocked and checked the tape over and over thinking it must have been another tape or it was altered in some way.

I miss my old friend and to this day I refuse to eat fried chicken or turkey in memory of Mr McBird.

So sorry to hear about your parrot.  That must have been very embarrassing--they probably didn't believe you, then.  Do you think your bird didn't want the publicity and his talking was only meant for your ears?

My Gigi my blue nose pit died earlier this year, she was a gentle giant, the other night my arm was sticking out off the bed and I felt a cold wet nose flicking my hand, I knew it wasn't my other dog because she was in between hubby and me. My gigi was a great girl.

Wow!  It appears this happens MUCH more than we think.  We just don't usually talk about it, or people think we're crazy!!!
