Yelp.  If the People's Republic of China is to be believed they have had only 18 new cases in all of China today, besides Hubei Province  [which is just a cauldron of virus].  Essentially they may have stopped it cold.   

It is only through efforts by CCP members like this hero that made it possible.  If only Korea, Iran, Italy and Japan had this guy.

Venice carnival is cancelled - they have three confirmed cases in Venice.

Venice used to be very very good with quarantines, several islands in the lagoon were set aside for ships incoming to Venice to wait out their mandatory confinement to make sure they were free of plague or other diseases.

Now the place is connected to the mainland and is chock full of tourists on the main thoroughfares there is little chance of Venice escaping the virus.

Heated discussion between myself and marital unit today as the online shopping order was put through. I won and we have started to stockpile just in case. He thinks I am overreacting. I know how packed his tube and train to and from London is each day...

@DynamoHum I understand where you are coming from. You are smart to start stockpiling   I went out for brunch with my family this morning. We talked about hockey. I did not want to talk about IT in front of very young children. After our fun meal, I asked my son to help me move some items in my cellar. My house was built in 1880. I have a huge cellar with stone walls. I need a cleaned out area to start saving some items…just in case.

I would agree to be trained at my hospital for preparedness for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive events. I was a paid volunteer. I thought it would be fun and I could use the extra money. As I suited up, I was giggling. I thought I looked like something from an alien autopsy.  I was born with a twisted sense of humor just like TENTIN QUARANTINO.
