My local ABC affiliate WFAA, aired a program today, after the 11am news hours called "What you need to know about the Virus"

They had a segment where they asked about what to do, if anything, differently about shopping at the supermarket, and bringing the items home. They said that they asked a virus specialist if they were doing anything different. And they said the specialist said no. Other then washing your hands and washing fruits and vegetables, which they already did. Now that's what they said, and then they showed for 5 seconds, a list of other things to do, but did not speak about them.

Confusing disinformation I'd call it. Oh, and during this hour long special, they ran blocks of obnoxious advertising.

Yeah, trust the experts the Networks bring out... every time!

Watching a Russian military airlift jet unload medical supplies in JFK right now.  Smart dude that Putin. 

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that Putin expected the U.S. to return the gesture if Russia faces a similar crisis and U.S. producers have increased their capacity to produce medical supplies.

Why Are California and New York Different in the Virus Crisis?

I was wondering about this with a college friend this am. Could it be the subways, trains, buses - large crowd difference?
Apparently the expectation for California in the capital area is that the peak will be at the end of April.

Population density and the subways have to play a huge part.  There are also at least 8 strains - I believe the west coast stuff mostly kicked off from China while the NYC outbreak may have really accelerated after that lady got back from Iran.  One may hit humans harder than the others.

After flights from China were suspended, and well into February, NY City Mayor Bill DeBlasio and NY City Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot were encouraging people to go out, mingle, etc - specifically including the Chinese New Year parade.  Once again, virtue signaling and identity politics win out over a health crisis.
