Go to this place on University in Denver. Order a beef/sausage combo “wet” with sweet and hot peppers. And a side order of fries.
They aren’t quite as good as the ones you would get in Chicago but they are passable. The bread just isn’t quite right.

I am making my own giardiniera (currently in the flavor blending dwell) and my own Italian dressing mix. Oh, and hoagy buns are also not available here, so I will have to bootleg with some French bread batards.
Had a quick taste of the giardiniera, and it is sublime. I can already imagine it on the sandwich.
