Domestic animals mostly didn't evolve in arctic weather. Cows in places like Montana shouldn't be left outside where elk and moose know to go deep into the thickest woods to survive. Dogs shouldn't out walking on 110 degree sidewalks, and so on.
My Mexican neighbors thought it was perfectly normal for their short haired dog to be out all winter in freezing rain, howling from the cold. Fuck them, I had to wake them up a couple of times at 3 am to get their attention. Added bonus, not speaking to me anymore.
