Yesterday my brother and I got out to the desert and broke in his new Saint Victor AR-15. He has a red dot on it and we were plinking full shaving cream cans from about 25 yards. They blowed up real good.

Olson was a great man too. He impacted my life and my direction to be a historian and researcher/writer.  Tough SOB too. Philippine Scouts.

LOL!  Oh and by the way, I didn't get a message from Mack. So I may be an outcast.

I guess there were an inordinate amount of New Mexicans at Bataan since the NM national guard was stationed there.

Nah, you know those guys. They were talking seriously about doing it Friday, but their commitment may not have been firm. Like I said, they aren't pissed at you.

The Army moved a lot of green troops there beginning in 1939.  In fact, it was acknowledged by many commanders at the time that these troops were ill-equipped and inadequately supplied.

I am a bit rusty on the history of it, but they knew the Japanese would invade, it was just a matter of time.

One factor less known is the effects of Malaria and other diseases combined with lack of proper nutrition on those troops prior to the Japanese invasion.
But they still fought until May 1942.

"Impressive work. This may be the best of its type I have ever seen.  I served in the Philippines as a US Marine from Oct 1984 - March 1986.  I was stationed with "C" Co. Marine Barracks detachment to NRTF Capas, Tarlac, site of the WW2 POW Camp O'Donnell".

In ddd's typical way of putting propagandist spin on the jap atrocities committed against the prisoners, he tried to rationalize it by saying the japs found out about the internment of Japanese-Americans and that put them into a rage. Like I'm just sure the japs even knew about the internment much less used it as an excuse to commit the atrocities they did. ddd is a fucking liar.
