Bart, do you have any exotic pets? Ya' know, ssSnakeSss, lizards, exotic birds etc..
I was snake-sitting a Rosy Boa for a friend of mine, years ago, when I lived on Mt Baldy, cause his girlfriend didn't like snakes (I think snakes are cool). He finally told me I could keep the Rosy Boa cause his girlfriend would leave if he brought Her back.
I did a little research, and found that Rosy Boas are native to Mt Baldy and live near water.
He had given me
"Rosy" in December. Snakes usually hibernate in the winter, so I gave her a good place to live (heat rock, food, etc) through the winter. At one point SHE got loose in my room. But She came out while I was looking for Her. She just didn't want to be so confined. Well, yeah, we did become friends, of sorts. I didn't restrict Her to the aquarium thingy, but She was always in it at night for the heat-rock.
That Spring, when the weather was warm enough at night, I turned Her loose, next to Bear Canyon Creek.
Yes, She did look at me before she slipped into the greenery on the creek bank, as though to say "thank you, my friend."
Rosy Boas are a beautiful and very docile serpent. I hope anyone who encounter one, gives them the respect they deserve.
