I watched the Eagles - Commanders game on a whim, not thinking that I would see anything but an Eagles win.  Imagine my surprise when the Commanders had a great second half and won the game on the Eagle's home turf.   Not that it will change anything standing wise, but I was happy for coach Ron Rivera, whose mom died earlier in the week.

Scenario: Losing by 3. 3rd and 1 with about 30 seconds left in Field Goal range

3rd and 1 play: Go for a pass to get really close or even get in for a TD - I don't mind that play at all, I actually kind of like it, if you think the Bills are bunching up the line to stop the run, I like the aggressiveness

4th and 1 play: Kick the field goal to tie the game, leaving 30 seconds left for a great Bills offence to just need a replying FG to win

WTF!?  I like the 3rd down pass ONLY if you go for a running play at 4th Down. If you are playing conservatively then just run the ball on 3rd Down with a higher percentage chance of getting a 1st (worst case scenario force Buffalo to use a Time Out) Am I wrong?

No. You are not wrong. The Lions set an NFL record through the first four games of this season for most points combined: scored and given up.  That worked out to a 1 and 3 record which is par for the Lion's course but at least it wasn't boring.  Then they lost three games in a row and were competitive in only one of them. At this point their defence was on track statistically to be the worst of all time. Obviously a change was needed, so they traded their tight end, whom was a former high 1st round pick and a good but not great player to a division rival for a 2nd and 4th round pick.  This some how works and they win three straight. If they beat the Bills this puts them at 5 and 6 with a shot at respectability.  They have some other bad teams on the schedule the rest of the way - win most of them and maybe finish over .500  No hope now.
