@Walks_At_Night  Man, I have to laugh every time you post about the Lions.  What would you do if they had a winning season or even won the Super Bowl?  Heck, I even think that's unlikely in our lifetime.  ;) ;D

I had a sinking feeling that if this game was in Detroit they would upset the Steelers.  However, it's here and the weather is going to be crappy.  I'm thinking the Steelers eek out a win and that will please you.

Oh.  We probably already addressed it in the past but I don't remember.  When did you give up on your home town team?

After Calvin Johnson retired and yet another outstanding players career was wasted in despair.  He has good company though in joining Dick LeBeau, Lem Barney, Charlie Sanders, Eddie Murray, Alex Karras, Stan White, Bubba Baker, Doug English, Billy Sims, Jason Hanson, Jeff Chadwick, Herman Moore, Jeff Backus, Bennie Blades, Herman Weaver, Mel Farr, Stephen Boyd, Chris Spielman, Robert Porcher, Lomas Brown, Kevin Glover, Keith Dorney and Barry Sanders. All wonderful players whose postseason accomplishments aren't worth a bucket of spit.  :'(

I admit that the franchise has squandered a lot of talent over time.  I never understood why.  I also don't understand why they wouldn't at least trade the likes of Calvin Johnson or Barry Sanders before they retired.  There was interest.  The writing was on the wall.  It seems playing for the Lions sucks the life out of a player.  They are the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NFL.

At least the Pirates have We Are Family.  The only thing I can remember about the Lions is they were on the receiving end of Tom Dempsey’s kick.

Well, @Walks_At_Night I'm afraid the Lions just might win.  Big Ben was placed on the COVID list.  He's cooked anyway.  There's nothing left in him and our O-line is awful.  I don't rust Mason Rudolph to excel behind that line.  At least Ben has experience and can improvise.  Mason cannot.

Lions 19 Steelers 17

The spread currently is Lions +8.  I'll take it.

During any perfect season a tem will face some challenges. Seems like this game will indeed be a challenge but I have faith in my squad. Muffed punt return, blocked kick, a 98 yard pick six - the possibilities are unlimited. Let's see if they can dig down deep and find a way to fritter the game away. Destiny awaits........

Missed extra point and a missed field goal in the clutch and Pittsburgh *still* couldn't beat the Lions. 16-16 tie. Mason Rudolph really stinks.

The dream for perfection is dead.

LOL!  Mason didn't play that badly.  Our O-line is absolutely terrible.  Four...count 'em...four snaps over his head.  Dropped balls.  If Ben was playing, the Lions would've won.  At least Mason can move around.  I mentioned in the other post that Mason cannot improvise.  I was wrong.  That was a pretty physical game.  I was impressed with the Lions' approach on defense.  Plus they ran the ball down our throats.  Goff sucks big time.

You have to admit that my prediction was close.  ;) @Walks_At_Night

Your kicker is probably getting out of the shower, dressing, and picking up his game check.  Then it's off to fill out some applications.  :D

Are you sure, he has a $134 million contract?

Well. That last game of the night was a beautiful game. Neither team could have played much better. I think we finally have a Chargers team worth rooting for. I thought near the end "here we go again. Lose it in the final minutes" but they hung tough. It's been a different feeling all year with the changes from management to coaching to quarterback. We'll see how long the magic lasts

Sorry @ShayP master. The Steelers looked awesome. And came so close

NFWho?

I hope the entire Spanos family contracts pancreatic cancer, goes to Mexico for laetrile treatment only to be injected with window seal silicone and they all go septic.

That's just for the slumlord crap the family pulled 30 years ago.

I didn't watch the game. @TigerLily  Just catching up on the details.  Seems to me QB- Justin Herbert was a one man wrecking crew.  The kid's a stud.

So true.  I viewed the last quarter of the game only to see L A take a two touchdown lead with only eight minutes remaining.  I stopped watching at that point, but I did return to the game with just two plus minutes remaining, to find the the Steelers were leading by three points.  Sadly, L A had the ball at that time and easily scored a touchdown.  At that point I think that Big Ben decided to make a statement at how piss poor his offensive line blockers were.  They gave him no time whatsoever to make a long pass to win the game.  I put the loss squarely on their shoulders.

@Rikki Gins  The current O-Line is the absolutely worst the Steelers have had in my lifetime.  That's not an exaggeration either.  They do nothing well.  I also just saw a video of DE- Cam Heyward punching Justin Herbert is the stomach while he was on the ground.  :o  He should've been ejected.
