OMG, I’m coming Elizabeth.

This may not shock you - Fred Sanford is on the list.
Multiple times.
He made the list each time he reached for his ticker.
Wild stuff.

I understand, you come from a far off foreign country and don't know the history of the Chargers ownership.

The Spanos family is well known for being cheap-assed mofos. Before owning the Chargers they were slumlords in cockroach infested apartment buildings along the I-15 corridor in San Diego, namely buildings that were near Mira Mesa Boulevard. Back in the 1990s, there was a website that documented the slum conditions.

As football team owners, they often got sweetheart deals from the city council with ticket guarantees that the illiterate council didn't read and favored the Chargers incredibly well. They needed to improve their marketing, their team, their performance but they did nothing to improve because they were getting so much for free from the city.

After lying to the City of San Diego and its voters, now they ride the coattails of somebody else's wealth (Stan Kroenke). This is usually accomplished along with cries of poverty or just an arrogant expectation that everybody owes them.

Side notes: The previous owner, Gene Klein, was a favorite of San Diegans. He had real roots in the community, including regularly racing his horses at Del Mar. He also battled Al Davis of the Raiders in court. It is there where he had a heart attack and ultimately died.

Rush Limbaugh once talked about how much he respected the old school Alex Spanos. Talking about how a handshake was a deal and he would keep his promises. Apparently, a lot of San Diego listeners wrote letters to him, there were even callers to the show who were ultimately screened from the show but wanted to tell Rush about how they stuck in verbiage in agreements with the city and various departments in charge of the stadium, security, etc. The blowback was mostly behind the scenes but I remember it was covered heavily in the local media. If I had to guess, it had to have been the mid to late 90s. I'm pretty sure the host that was airing a lot of the grievances was a guy named Roger Hedgecock. That dude's it's been long off the air.

Rivers was settling to lose. He had chances to get away from Spanos and didn't. Sports Gamblingtalk radio had a lot of comments about how Philip Rivers didn't have the fire to win because he chose to stick with Spanos.

It seemed like Rivers was there next to forever. You could always count on him to just get so far and no further.

His Catholicism was often reputed to be more important to him and occupied a great deal of his time. He owned a local Catholic radio station. Of course, one wouldn't need to know he owned a Catholic radio station to know he was a Catholic. He had like 17 kids.

On the other side of the field, Shad Kahn seemed to enjoy going to owners meetings and getting to host a game in London every year. The teams got worse and worse.  Finally the fans had enough and began showing up in clown costumes and referring to games as clown shows.  Local media included the Jaguars’ terrible record under Kahn in every story. The City rejected a big development project he promoted and would have made millions on.  He decided to actually spend some time in town and try to get the business in order. He hired Urban Meyer, which turned out to be a disaster, but at least he tried something different.  Hiring Doug Peterson has been good so far, but it’s only one year.

The fans should own the teams, like Green Bay.

That last block sure looked like it was from behind. 51 even lifted his hands up like he was trying to sell that it wasn't.

Well, @JUAN , it's official. Your (((JAGS))) are getting a serious shot in the arm by way of one, Nathan Rourke of my beloved BC LIONS. The kid is great and WILL perform. My hopes were that he would land in Denver, thus giving me full fuel to root for my adopted broken Broncos. But No! Guess I'll be a JAGS guy next season.  8)

I haven’t found a lot of info on him, but what I found looks good.  With the way Trevor has improved this year, the coaching staff clearly knows how to develop a player.  That should be good for Rourke.
