If you can find an old tube radio or tube ham transceiver, it would be good to keep one of those around as they are more likely to survive an EMP. Working ones are out there but may take some searching to find one in good condition. People that keep these around for potential emergencies need to turn them on at least every few months to confirm they are working and also so the heat will help dry out any residual moisture that may have accumulated. Otherwise, the capacitors can go bad over time if unused and moisture is the enemy of these old radios.

I've been reading all of my so-called posts and they make me look like a COMPLETE JACKASS!  It is my belief that this fraud, this fake me, has cost me many, many karma points. Can this negative effect be countered in some way on your end by adding like 85 karma's to my score?

Oh boy. Ok here's the thing.  First of all I have +1nd both of you and I owe you each several more.

There's a smalllllll but real chance that I was kidding and indeed acting like a "complete jackass" when telling the Bart that I had been hacked.   I think the best thing we can all do here is to is keep cool heads about this and not go on a smiting extravaganza against yours truly. If I could buy you each a beer and give you a big hug, I would.

Forgivness and understanding is to be admired so I think we all can learn from this experience. In closing I am very sorry for forcing your praise hand under false pretence. Let us not smite but rather smile and move on.
