The latest trend that I've been exposed to is full form music videos as advertisements on YouTube when I'm watching on my Roku TV. Sometimes they're actually good songs and sometimes it's just a girl that's dressed for a wet t-shirt contest whose sugar daddy promised her "baby, I'm going to make you famous" it's probably a real inexpensive way to promote oneself.
I have no idea how much they pay for a long form video ad like that, but that business model has got to work somehow. Maybe it's just so new that people are dumping money into a loss leader thing thinking that they will make money on the other end.
These artists would be better off, exposure-wise, to get on to a Sunday night C2C bumper...
