The problem with all the early Motorhead albums is the production. Everything is shit-water thin because none of them knew how to work with Lemmy's sound. Lemmy played through a guitar amp and not a bass amp. Lemmy also played his bass as if it were a guitar.  So between playing through a guitar amp which produces a thinner sound than a bass amp and playing his bass as if it were a guitar those producers at the time were moronic in there approach at the early stages of the recording. It was fucked before even hitting the record button.

I'll say it again that producer Cameron Webb was the first to get it right because he understood the nature and sound of the beast Lemmy.

After listening to that Ace Of Spades video this will sound like a whole other world, yet same band. @TigerLily

Indeed it is and always was. Metal is not an offshoot of the blues like basic rock n' roll was.  Metal is much much more of a Nordic or Viking product IMO. Something had to rock those boats..

There is nothing bluesy about something like this..  You would never hear any singer in any other genre do what the singer in this song does (2:47 mins in)

Yeah it's groovy stuff. Very nice.

When my parents came back from a trip to Mexico my dad had become a huge fan of that kind of playing. He tried to find a local guitar teacher that played that style to add to my current lessons at the time but fortunately that search proved to be fruitless. I was already 6 months in with my current guitar teacher and adding another style/teacher would have really got in my way. I was already losing out on weeknight GI Joe time as it was.
