From Mr. or Mrs. AI:
Quote
Jack Frost Pears in Yakima, Washington, originate from the Jack Frost Fruit Co., founded in 1956 by Bill Gammie, a pivotal figure who grew apples and pears, helping establish quality fruit for the region, though the name itself borrows from folklore. While Gammie's company (later tied to Domex Superfresh) focused on apples and pears under his leadership, the Yakima Valley's pear history goes back to European introductions, with growers like Moore Orchards and Johnson Orchards developing long legacies, leveraging the valley's climate for major pear production, including Anjou and Bartlett varieties.

Is this label from the 50s-60s?  ???
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

According to my crate label expert The Labelman (https://thelabelman.com/?srsltid=AfmBOooPrHRHQ7AyY0hS1iSqQjTjhBvgertK7wgfZi0dm3p-6xqLcJhU) this label was printed sometime during the 1950s.

Online information seems to suggest that...
Quote
The Apopka Fruit Company was a notable citrus operation based in Apopka, Florida, active during the mid-20th century. While it was one of many companies in the region's once-dominant citrus industry, it is primarily remembered today through its distinctive vintage crate labels. The company was active from approximately 1930 to 1950.

Other citrus processing companies continued on until the 1980s. Apparently, Lake Apopka (fourth largest lake in Florida) was being heavily polluted and most of the industrial plants were closed down. The lake has since bounced back.

Here is some info on Myron Root & Company:
Quote
Founded in 1905 in Medford, Oregon, by orchardist Myron Root, Myron Root & Co. evolved from a local pear packing business into an international fruit processor. The company created the Sabroso Co. brand in 1964 to process leftover pears, eventually producing various fruit purees, concentrates, and smoothies for a global market.

That Sabroso plant is big. Drive by the place during operating hours and you can easily smell the pear juice. Sabroso Co. was recently bought out by Tree Top Corp.
