I was talking to a wonderfully sweet janitor lady who was working the graveyard shift where a band was playing last night. She said it was a much better place to work than a hotel down towards downtown San Diego. She said something rather catchy; "The girls down there love you fast and leave you hard."
When she said "leave you hard," she meant abruptly, as if you buy them a few drinks and then they run off. But the double entendre of hard made it a little more entertaining to me.
She said that, after the pandemic, she started to feel unsafe working at a tourist trap hotel. The visitors were much more deviant and aggressive. That's when she went to a combination hotel, live music venue.
