I finished this book up a couple of nights ago. It was a fun one! I was a little bummed with the mostly happy ending but it stayed fast paced, which i like. This was doubly fun because I’ve been working on a trip to the Virunga Mtns (but the Rwandan side, not the DRC). Thanks for the rec @Walks_At_Night , I’ll be sure to skip the movie.

Nice!  On the other hand, The Andromeda Strain, is a very watchable movie.

100% Agreed.

Not sure why but I often want to lump The Andromeda Strain and The Europa Report together. Isn't that odd, one of them doesn't even take place on earth.

I’m more fun than an open-casket funeral.
I’ll keep that in mind for our later years.
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

Ooh! I have this in my libby app, it’s a two week wait. I’ll be reading it next.

Yeah, a whole lotta nuttin'!

So, why? I really didn't see any sort of payoff here. Guy trying to be the cool neighbor with a pointless contraption that he built just because he could? Sure, a few things going on there but not one thing works in conjunction with the next in order to garner any sort of 'wow', or 'cool'.

Am I missing something here WAN?

Possibly you missed:

Hot Dog cart named "Linda Dogstadt"
Smoothie machine with a bottle of what looks to be Finlandia Vodka sticking out the top
Smoothie machine with a bottle of cheap wine sticking out the top
2x10 to hold the dog to be executed in place.

Saw the name.
So he drinks vodka. Ok big deal.
Cheap wine sticking out top. Ok big deal.
Dog chopper at the end. Saw it.

My point is that none of it has anything to do with the next. It's just a throw together mish-mash of forced eccentricity. The guy is trying way too hard or he's out of his league and without imagination. It's a giant ADD thing in his yard.

Pointless, aimless, and I need a coffee.
