Thanks again for all of your help. I really appreciate all of the input. I did try out the red copper pan, try being the key word, and wasn’t really that impressed. The handle on the end makes it a bit a awkward and the weight is just not there. I was surprised that after the second use, I was able to knock a pice of the coating off the side by cracking an egg on it. Would I buy it for a vacation home, possibly, for an everyday use pan, no.
So I guess that brings me to the Berg Unboxing moment. Since I have a good 10†Wagner cast iron skillet, I decided to go for the MADE IN THE USA, All-Clad D3 12†with lid and the 8†pan. I think I’ll try these out for a bit before I pull the trigger on the pots. Luckily, the moped let me use a few of hers to get me by. I’ve got a few Omaha Steak fillets in the fridge. I think I’ll try one in one of the new pans and one in the cast iron later this evening. I’m going to try and duck out of work a bit early so I can season one of these.
