Brian Kemp is a third-rate politician. He only won because he faced a third-rate romance novelist, Selena Montgomery.

Didn't he barely beat Stacy Abrams, an O-bot hack who's still complaining that she wasn't quite able to steal enough votes to win?

She may be the odds on favorite to be Biden's pick for VP

Abrams is her political name. Selena Montgomery is her romance author name. Who knows what her real name is.

Omg.  Somehow that scrap of information hasn't circulated much around here.  What would the Fake News reaction have been if it were, say, Sarah Palin writing that crap instead?

I like how that one cop is wearing a mask over his beard.  Nice tight fit there, bubba.

That's all well and good, what happens when the virus spreads through the farm worker community?

Our local Trader Joe's is limiting the number of shoppers to 30 at a time.  I imagine they all are.  No personal grocery bags, we're back to getting free new paper bags.  They've got the outside line taped off at 6' intervals, same with the checkout line.  No one is allowed in the store if they have a cough or temperature.  I'm assuming this is all Trader Joe's, probably a lot of other stores.  What a drag.

The next step is taking off our shoes, and getting arrested for dumb jokes.  What happens if someone eludes front door security, and coughs in the middle of their shopping experience?

If 30% of the truck drivers get sick we are screwed.  Right now farmers are planting/preparing to plant.  Not the busiest time for manual labor.  Harvest season is not far away.  Fresh vegetables may be in short supply beginning in May.  Fruit crops would be next.

How many meat cutters need to get sick before we are eating soylent green?

They say that on e you get it you are pretty much immune.  Maybe we need to import a bunch of seasonal workers from Wuhan.

The army is pretty good at moving things.

I wonder if the national guard or even the military could be sent to help keep the farms operating - doesn't most of the food supply come from large factory farms?

Factory farms with automation are big in commodities like grains, corn and staples like rice but vegetables and fruits still take a lot of manual labor to harvest and pack.

National guard is probably a decent option in some states, but you would probably need some coordinated effort to get them to the right state at the right time.  Not sure governor’s would want to allow their guard units to go to California to pick lettuce or avocados.

Man. I hate canned asparagus.

I didn’t plant much this year.  A few tomatoes and several types of basil.  It’s really toolate to plant here in Texas.  Have to wait until Fall now.

I guess all those massage therapists, retail clerks and such could be hired to pick crops but there is zero chance of that happening the next 4 months since they will be getting 100% of their salary from this new unemployment on steroids.
