I think you have to start with the first one to sort of know what’s going on.  It might not be the best season, but it’s hard to figure out if starting in the middle.

I’d probably go with the fourth or fifth season of the X-Files but you might want to watch the first season just to get the “feel” of things.  I was big on all of the alien conspiracy episodes when I first watched it in the 90s, but now prefer the so called “monster of the week” episodes.  As I mentioned earlier this morning, I watched “Home” last night, which is not to be missed just for it’s disturbing hideousness.  Some other preferred episodes of my mine:

1)  Squeeze 1993

2)  Tooms 1994

3)  The Host 1994

4)  Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose 1994

5)  Humbug 1995

6)  Jose Chung’s from Outer Space 1995

7)  The Field Where I Died 1996

8 )  Redrum 2000

I’m sure there are others I don’t remember at the moment.

I will watch S4 first. I understand what you're saying about starting at the beginning but I just don't have that in me. I understand the concept and plot of the show and I know about Mulder, Scully, and Lt Ron.

oh  and I saw the movie.  1st one
