@Walks_At_Night what are you going to be planing?Of all the things to wake up thinking about.
TL;DR Poplar or Pine. 2x4's, 4x4's, etc for building stuff outside or in the garage. Just getting started and not ready to drop loads of cash on a real planer.
To start with "cheap" dimensional lumber. Want to build a workbench - right now I've got some MDF attached to 2x3's sitting on saw horses as a work bench. Then want to build a lumber storage cart, a shoe rack and then an outdoor kitchen. Got a great deal on a 36" Blackstone griddle, so want to pair that with my grill and maybe a pizza oven. Along with a table and chairs to use out there.
At the point in life where I'm tired of grunting for the man so much and want to branch out a bit. I've built some planter boxes and this
potting bench which went well. Mrs. WAN found me a brand new, still in the box Craftsman table saw for $75 - its not what I would have picked but couldn't pass it up.
